The Basic Education Laws Amendment (BELA) Bill was recently accepted through the South African Parliament and is now just waiting around for being signed into legislation with the President.
The Act will introduce substantial changes on the South African Schools Act as well as the Employment of Educators Act to better align with present-day academic needs and issues.
Important provisions with the BELA Bill contain:
Compulsory Grade R: The Bill can make it obligatory for youngsters to start school at bela bill schools Grade R, with formal penalties for folks who fall short to enroll their small children.

Learner Pregnancy: Contrary to some public misconceptions, the Bill does not give schools control over a learner’s decision regarding abortion. It does, however, address the management of learner pregnancies in schools.
